STI Theme Song

Ooh Better Get Ready
Get Ready For A Brighter Day
Ooh Better Get Ready
Na Na Na Na Na
Everybody Come Listen Up Now, Yeah
Gotta Let You Know What Life Is All About
Never Be Afraid Let Your Feelings Show, No No
Nothin’s Wrong When You Keep Dreaming On
But You Gotta Let Your Heart And Mind Be One
Hold Your Head Up High Don’t Be Insecure
Na Na Na Na Na

Refrain:
Hold On To Your Dream, Don’t Throw It (All) Away
Never Let Go Of It Come What May

Chorus:
Together We Will Fly
We’ll Never Say Goodbye
To Dreams That Lead Us To
A Better Me And You
The Future Looks So Bright
If We Just Hold On Tight
Tomorrow We Will See
The Best That We Can Be (Yeah)
(Tomorrow We Will Bring
A Better Song To Sing)
Ooh Better Get Ready
Get Ready For A Brighter Day
Ooh Better Get Ready
Better Get Ready

(Repeat Refrain)
(Repeat Chorus 2x)

STI Anniversary Celebrated 27 on the 27th!

It was definitely a festive feat for the entire STI Community as it once again commemorated its foundation day on August 27, 2010 at Enchanted Kingdom in Laguna. It was a celebration of talents, skills and achievements symbolizing STI’s thrust towards excellence in education and co-curricular activities.

More than 16,000 students from STI campuses all over the country participated in the much-awaited event. Due to the astounding number of people present in the celebration, the programs were held simultaneously in two venues – the Band Stand and the Space Port areas.

Audiences from the Band Stand were thrilled by talent competitions such as Battle of the Bands (amateur band competition) and STI Singing Idol (solo singing competition). The crowd went wild with a dynamic performance from popular band Chicosci and guest appearance by teen idol Matt Evans. The Space Port area, on the other hand, was packed with enthused spectators of Hataw Sayaw (group dance competition) and the much awaited search for Mr. and Ms. STI 2010. Intermission numbers from artists surely kept the crowd’s spirits high.

A Definition of Unconditional Love

realize that I cannot know what is best for you although perhaps sometimes I think I do. I've not been where you have been, viewing life from that angle you have, I do not know what you have chosen to learn, how you have chosen to learn it, with whom, or in what time period. I have not walked life looking through your eyes, so how can I know what you need.

I allow you to be in the world without a thought or word of judgment from me about the deeds you undertake. I see no error in the things you say and do, in this place where I am. I see that there are many ways to perceive and experience the different facets of our world. I allow without reservation the choices you make in each moment.

I make no judgment of this for if I were to deny your right to evolution, then I would deny that right to myself and all others. To those who would choose a way I cannot walk, whilst I may not choose to add my power and my energy to this way, I will never deny you the gift of love that God has bestowed within me for all creation, as I love you so I shall be loved; as I sow, so I shall reap.

I allow you the universal right of free will to walk your own path, creating steps or to sit a while if that is what is right for you. I will make no judgment of these steps, whether they are large or small, nor light or heavy or that they lead up or down, for this is just my viewpoint. I see you do nothing and might judge it to be unworthy. And yet, it may be that you bring great healing as you stand blessed by the light of God.

I cannot always see the higher picture of divine order. For it is the inalienable right of all life to choose their own evolution and with great love I acknowledge your right to determine your future. In humility I bow to the realization that the way I see is best for me does not have to mean that it is also right for you. I know that you are led as I am following the inner excitement to know your own path.

I know that the many races, religions, customs, nationalities and beliefs within our world bring us great richness and allow us the benefit of teachings of such diverseness. I know we each learn in our own unique way in order to bring that love and wisdom back to the whole. I know that if there were only one way to do something, there would need to be only one person. I will not only love you if you behave in a way I think you should, or believe in those things I believe in. I understand you are truly my brother and sister though you may have been born in a different place and believe in another God than I.

The love I feel is for all of God's world. I know that every living thing is part of God and I feel a love deep within every person, and every tree, and flower, every bird, river, ocean and for all the creatures in all the world. I live my life in loving service being the best me I can, becoming wiser in the perfection of divine truth, becoming happier in the joy of unconditional love.

Just The Way You Are Lyrics

Oh, her eyes, her eyes, make the stars look like they're not shining
Her hair, her hair, falls perfectly without her trying
She's so beautiful, and I tell her every day
Yeah, I know, I know, when I compliment her she won't believe me
And it's so, it's so, sad to think that she don't see what I see
But every time she asks me do I look ok, I say
When I see your face, there's not a thing that I would change
Because you're amazing, just the way you are
And when you smile, the whole world stops and stares for a while
Because girl you're amazing, just the way you are
Her lips, her lips, I could kiss them all day if she let me
Her laugh, her laugh, she hates but I think it's so sexy
She's so beautiful, and I tell her every day
Oh, you know, you know, you know, I'd never ask you to change
If perfect's what you're searching for then just stay the same
So, don't even bother asking if you look ok
You know I'll say
When I see your face, there's not a thing that I would change
Because you're amazing, just the way you are
And when you smile, the whole world stops and stares for a while
Because girl you're amazing, just the way you are

The way you are, the way you are
Girl you're amazing, just the way you are
When I see your face, there's not a thing that I would change
Because you're amazing, just the way you are
And when you smile, the whole world stops and stares for a while
Because girl you're amazing, just the way you are. Yeah

Into Temptation

I was doing so well until a few minutes ago when I went to make our Gardener some sandwiches for lunch. Both he and Elizabeth our Domestic Worker have made it quite clear to us that they "don't do brown bread" so we always have a loaf of white for their lunches. What is it about white bread that appeals to every one of my senses? As I took the loaf from the cupboard I felt myself go weak at the knees as my fingers felt the softness of the loaf. It looked so white and clean and inviting just begging me to scoff a few slices there and then. I swallowed back the saliva and took a few slices from the packet trying to hum away the mental anguish. Oh the aroma of fresh white bread reached my nostrils sending me into sensory overdrive. I turned away from the offending loaf and downed a glass of water. Right! Back to the task at hand. Then I realised the slices of ham I assumed we still had in the fridge were long gone thanks to Elizabeth and the cats begging for treats so I was forced to take out the cheddar cheese. Oh please someone help me!!!!!!!!! My all time favorite of white bread and creamy yellow cheese is before my very eyes and I am in serious and literal pain.
Before I could even process the thought not to eat it I had a huge chunk of the cheese in my mouth!
I felt like a vampire with a taste for what I want and hellbent on getting it. I wonder if my eyes had glazed over or were perhaps blood red with food lust?!?

Waking weight this morning = 50.8kg's.
100 grams heavier than yesterday but I keep telling myself it is just the extra water I'm drinking (wink wink)

The flaws of human nature

It is possible that I am one of the last people on the planet to have watched the Stars Wars Sextet but hey, better late than never.

Before I started to watch it, I had to confirm with my two favourite brain boxes on watching Episodes IV, V, VI first and then I, II and III. One said to watch it consecutively, the other said watch it as they were released. Hmm...thanks guys.

So I decided to watch it as they were released. I must say Episodes IV, V, VI were rather simplistic with even simpler dialogue. Bleh...

BUT onto I, II and III! Whoa! Anakin's journey from obscurity to power hungry Sith is captivating. All the while knowing what is going to happen, I will still rooting for him to be good, remain good...very much like watching Romeo and Juliet - you know they're are going to die but you hope and pray that by some twist they won't!

Regardless, I feel a lot of compassion towards Anakin Skywalker for the simple reason that he is so flawed, so subject to his emotions, has much emotional baggage...it made him more human, more accessible. Evil manipulated that to their advantage so they could get the upper hand. But yes, Anakin did chose it himself as well even though he was only trying to protect what he held beloved. He is indeed a tragic hero, and now one of my favourites too.

In any case, seeing the character's demise made me think about how we all approach emotions - it can be so strong and can pull us to do so much - the very high of highs and the lowest of lows. The Jedi Masters, along with many religions in the reality we live in, preach about having that calm centre and disassociating the self from fears and attachments, especially in this physical world. That is something Anakin clearly did not practice. He had emotional baggage from the time he was a child, and I wonder how detrimental it is to people in their normal lives, if they do not deal with their emotional baggage. Are those from dysfunctional homes therefore more prone to snap at some point, if their issues are not resolved, or if they do not make peace with it? Are they at a natural disadvantage with all the chips on their shoulder? Does that mean that people who have led a relatively normal lives from childhood more prone to achieve all that they can, be all they can be? It made me think about being at peace with oneself, truly and fully, lest you go down your own dark path, whatever that may be for you.

Abracadabra

Abracadabra is an incantation used as a magic word in conjuring tricks that historically was believed to have healing powers when inscribed on an amulet.

The first known mention of the word ABRACADABRA was in the 2nd century AD in a poem called De Medicina Praecepta by Serenus Sammonicus, physician to the Roman emperor Caracalla, who prescribed that the sufferer from the disease wear an amulet containing the word written in the form of a triangle.

no Greater love

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. (John 3:16-17, Bible, King James Version)

He could have called ten thousand angels
To destroy the world and set Him free.
He could have called ten thousand angels,
But He died alone, for you and me.
(Ray Overhalt, Ten Thousand Angels, 1959)
